WASHINGTON, Dec 22 (Reuters) – Boeing Co (BA.N) stated on Thursday it had resumed flight testing of its 777X jets after an inspection in October discovered an engine challenge.
GE (GE.N) stated final month it was reviewing a technical challenge that occurred throughout GE9X post-certification engineering testing of the aircraft, and had determined with Boeing to take away the engine and ship it to a check facility in Ohio for engineering check runs.
The 777X, often known as the 777-9, is a bigger model of the 777 wide-body jet and has been in growth since 2013.
Boeing in April stated it was halting manufacturing of the 777X by way of 2023 and confirmed a delay in handing over the primary 777X jet to 2025 from the earlier goal of late 2023, however stated it remained assured in this system.
