BERLIN, Jan 31 (Reuters) – Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) is organising a battery cell manufacturing unit in Ontario, the Handelsblatt enterprise day by day reported on Tuesday, including that the Canadian province had provided investments and different incentives.
5 entries from this month are listed in a foyer register of the province for Volkswagen, together with one which mentions Chief Govt Oliver Blume by title, the report mentioned, citing the paperwork.
A Volkswagen spokesperson didn’t need to touch upon the Handelsblatt report and burdened {that a} choice on a location for a North American manufacturing unit had not but been made.
The carmaker confirmed in December it was trying to find a web site for a battery cell plant in North America, and Blume mentioned on the time mentioned that Canada was “one logical possibility”.
The paperwork seen by Handelsblatt mentioned that Ontario needed to be “thought-about in competitors with different places”.
